Jesse Runnels

Jesse has been with TWC since we began in 2016. 

He takes care of loading and unloading camp gear and equipment. He gave a presentation on Sitting Bull and Crazy Horse at Center of The Nation Camp near Wounded Knee.

He also plays the guitar.

Taliah Standing Soldier
Oglala-Lakota

Taliah came to TWC when she was 15 years old and has been with the youth organization ever since. 

She is instrumental in bringing other youth to TWC.

She helps the younger girls to set up and take down the 14 foot demonstration tipi.

 Brooke Bradford
Oglala-Lakota

Brook began coming to TWC the summer of 2023.  She has helped with fundraising efforts and helps in collaborating with youth about TWC.

She will help TWC by putting together fabric kits for ribbon skirts/pants, ribbon purses and other sewing projects as well as helping with fabric inventory and organization of all sewing supplies needed.

Farron Center

Farron came to TWC the summer of 2022 and has been with us since.

 

He plays the Flute and played it when we took our youth to the Medicine Wheel in the Bighorn Mountains.

Jersey Hornbeck

"I was born in Phoenix, Arizona but I grew up on the Pine Ridge Reservation.  I love volunteering and taking part in my community.  My next step is to become a leader so I can be more involved with not only the youth and elders but with every Native/Indigenous willing to participate. I am new to Teca WaWokiye Cokata Youth Center. "

 "I am new to Teca WaWokiye Cokata Youth Center.  My family is Traditional and we believe and live the Lakota Ways.

My role will be helping our youth learn to make and dress dolls."

Cali Pierce

Cali has been with TWC since 2018.  She is in school and is a cook helper for summer camps. She has done and learned so much in her years with TWC. She has been chosen as TWC Teen Leader.
